We made it into Edinburg around 8:30 AM (2:30 AM) back home. I slept sleep a grand total of maybe 3 minutes so I was moving slow.
We checked into our hotel around 9:30 but they informed us our rooms wouldn’t be ready until 1, which was not great to hear.. I thought about taking a nap on the couch in the hotel lobby but just couldn’t do it. We ended up going across the street to a restaurant that served authentic Scottish breakfast. See below for what I got. It had beans, sausage, eggs, bacon and haggis (if you look up what this is you will not want to eat it, but it’s popular here and actually wasn’t bad)

After breakfast we walked around for a bit and I tried my luck to see if I could check in early. Thankfully I could, so I napped for a few hours and then we went to “The Scotch Whisky Experience”

It was entertaining and there was some pretty good scotch that we got to try - see some pictures below. With each scotch dram drank, the more the dad jokes flowed. Brent asked our guide what they call “Scotch Whisky”, (they just call it whisky) and then asked what they call scotch tape.

After that, we went to dinner and then to a cigar lounge for some Cuban cigars - they were actually kind of disappointing, I would choose my Nicaraguan Padrons over them any day.
We all are back at the hotel now and I’m about to fall asleep - we have a couple tours tomorrow so I will post more then. I haven’t had to use Grok yet in writing these but we will see how long that keeps up..
The title of this post was almost as delicious as the beans look.
That breakfast doesn’t look half bad actually!!
You’ve always been brave with trying foods !
